How it works
Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy
is an extensively researched and effective psychotherapy method proven to help
people recover from trauma and other distressing life experiences, including
PTSD, anxiety, depression, and panic disorders.
Through the use of bilateral stimulation (i.e. eyes moving side to side) unprocessed traumatic or distressing information is accessed in a safe, structured and gradual way. This therapy is associated with a reduction in the intensity and emotions associated with distressing experiences.
